PROGRAM OVERVIEW

I-DIEM’s Global Climate Resilience Fellowship Program (GCRFP) aims to empower youth and promote climate action and resilience.

At our new Global Outreach Center in Accra, Ghana, we have meticulously crafted a unique and transformative fellowship program that goes beyond traditional boundaries. Participants will embark on an immersive journey that combines cultural understanding, political education, collaborative partnerships with local organizations, and valuable research opportunities.

By empowering students to apply their learnings in real-world contexts, the program ignites a spark of innovation and sustainability that resonates far beyond the individual projects. Our program is made possible through a collaboration between I-DIEM Africa, the University of Ghana, the University of Cape Coast, local nonprofits and non-governmental organizations, and communities. This strategic partnership enhances the program’s reach and effectiveness, creating a dynamic ecosystem where diverse expertise and resources converge to support the mission of empowering fellowship participants and uplifting communities across Africa.

Safety Considerations

At I-DIEM, we understand that safety is your utmost concern when it comes to your loved one’s travel experience. Rest assured, we have taken every measure to ensure a secure and protected environment for all participants.

Room and Board: Your fellow will be provided with comfortable and secure accommodations throughout their stay in Ghana. Our Global Resilience and Outreach Center is a 10-bedroom, gated facility in the Cantonments, Accra, Ghana. The cantonments is an affluent suburb of Accra which primarily houses government officials, ambassadors, and diplomatic missions including the U.S. Embassy. Our accommodations include security, housekeeping, and personal chefs providing nutritious meals to ensure your Fellow’s well-being.

Travel Arrangements: Travel arrangements will be provided by I-DIEM, in collaboration with Pride of Ghana Tours, Ltd., to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience. We prioritize the safety and comfort of our fellows throughout their entire journey including airfare and ground transportation.

Chaperoned Experience: Your fellow will never be alone during their time in Ghana. Our dedicated team of Program Managers & Fellow Leads will accompany them throughout the program. These chaperones will provide guidance, support, and supervision, ensuring that your child’s well-being and safety are always the top priority.

Emergency Preparedness: We have implemented thorough emergency protocols to handle any unexpected situations. Our team is prepared to address any medical emergencies, and we have established strong connections with local healthcare providers to ensure immediate and appropriate assistance if needed.

Communication and Support: We understand the importance of staying connected with you while your Fellow is abroad. Our team will maintain regular communication with you, providing updates on their progress and ensuring that you are well-informed about their experiences. We are here to address any concerns or questions you may have throughout the program.
